In his diploma thesis, Andrej Kmeť dealt with the design of seating furniture, more precisely the STAIR chair, made of solid oak in cooperation with the Slovak company v.d. Javorina. The resulting design proposal of the STAIR chair is visually cultivated and proportionately successful, technically and production-wise detailed. A characteristic shape element is the stepped construction of the backrest, which forms a significant detail of the entire concept proposed by the author. In Andrej Kmet's diploma thesis, it is necessary to appreciate his effort to generate a quality shape and design solution of the product, which is one of the most frequent topics of the current design profession. The author successfully fulfilled the goal he personally set at the beginning. The chair designed by him is elegant and certainly visually compatible with the production of the company v.d. Javorina and we can only hope that in the near future it will enrich its production portfolio.
