Donjon other way around. My house is a hollow tower with a gallery. Brick wall and arched battlements. Cube with a crown. Fortress near the city walls. Small castle with a hole in the heart. House old and new.
My house is a space inside out. I wanted to keep a fragment of the original building and take advantage of its uniqueness. Sense of its location. I preserved the most valuable part of the historic building and pulled axes for new walls from the tops of the polygon of its floor plan. All spaces around face the empty centre. The building used to be the same principle. They kept the polygon. What was needed, they finished.
I preserve the old masonry, remove the plaster and wall the windows. I form a solid core painted white. Everything new is wooden. Admitted structure of wooden panels and ceilings. The perimeter walls are covered with a brick wall behind the insulation. The house is symmetrical and regular. Clear and simple. Hidden under a simple shape. Everything is inscribed in a square. Above all is the crown. Arched railings around the roof garden. The end of the house.
I enter the green portal. And I'm standing right in the middle. On the left I see another portal, with an exit to the garden. To the right is a green staircase up. There is a regular dot for communication. There are four rooms in the corners of the building. Opposite the entrance is an teacher´s office and on its sides are two classrooms. At the entrance there are toilets on the side and changing rooms on the other.
In the middle there is freedom and a view of the sky. When I'm in the middle, I can go anywhere. I am surrounded by doors and paths.
When I go upstairs, I know what to expect, the principle of arrangement is repeated. Classes are above classes. Office above office. Toilets too. Above the areas where the portals are downstairs is a textbook store and a cleaning room. Kitchen above the dressing room. The technical room is in the original cellar, which can be entered via the lower office. Outdoor lessons are possible on the grassy roof. The house does not need to fence on the ground. Its radicality is not disturbed. Geometry has survived.
The house is a castle in the park. The house with the reason to stand where it stands.
