The heap is a place where the waste from ironworks, constructions and coal mines was brought and stored. It is a giant pile of heterogeneous material, which grew over a hundred years of intensive human activity. In any other city it would be an alien element but here, in Ostrava, it is one of the characteristic elements. We can see it as another island Ostrava is made of.

For some time it was place of intensive heavy industry, lets bring her back to nature and to the people. Lets support a different atmosphere and create a place where families can go for a Sunday walk or a birthday party, where kids could have place for their hobbies, where the education about landscape recovery will take place. A place, which will become a benefit for its surrounding, for the city and for the region.

The ground floor becomes a new heart of the heap. Alongside the bordering terrain a horizontal object is stretched through the whole heap therefore highlighting the central space with the lake in the middle.
